The short version.
JobLock is a free app that shields apps you choose until you have logged job applications. Use it for yourself, on your own phone, honestly. It is a commitment device, not a security product, and it does not apply to jobs on your behalf or promise you a job. It is provided as-is.
Installing or using JobLock means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, delete the app — that is the whole of the disagreement, since there is no account to close.

These terms sit on top of Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies to every app distributed on the App Store. Where the two genuinely conflict, these terms govern the app itself, and Apple's terms govern your relationship with Apple. Apple is not a party to this agreement and has no obligation to provide support for JobLock.
You must be at least 13 years old. JobLock is built for adults running their own job search; it is not a parental-control product and it is not designed to be installed on someone else's phone to restrict them.
You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use JobLock on Apple devices you own or control. In return, please do not:
JobLock uses Apple's Screen Time framework to put a shield over apps you select. Being straight about what that is worth:
Do not rely on JobLock to block anything that actually matters. It is designed to add friction to a habit you already want to break — not to enforce abstinence, supervise a person, or serve as a safety mechanism. If you need something you cannot undo, JobLock is the wrong tool.
When a session is running and JobLock logs a confirmation screenshot, it removes that screenshot from your camera roll. On iOS, deleted photos go to Recently Deleted and stay there for 30 days, so you can get one back — but you are responsible for anything you lose past that window. If you keep screenshots you cannot afford to lose, do not start a session with them undeleted in your library. What the app does with the contents of those images is covered in the Privacy Policy.
Everything JobLock stores lives on your device and nowhere else. There is no server, no account and no copy we can restore. If you lose your phone, delete the app, or tap Clear job list, your log is gone for good. Backing up your device is your responsibility, not ours.
JobLock is free, and contains no purchases, subscriptions or advertising. If that ever changes, existing features will not be taken away from you retroactively without notice in the app's release notes, and this page will be updated before any purchase is offered.
JobLock is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its text recognition will read every screenshot correctly. It will sometimes get a company name, a salary, or a job title wrong, and it will sometimes fail to recognise a valid confirmation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any lost opportunities, lost job offers, lost earnings, lost data or deleted photographs, arising out of your use of JobLock. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it, which is zero.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. Where that is true, the exclusions above apply only as far as that jurisdiction allows, and you may have rights that these terms cannot remove.
You can end it at any time by deleting the app. We can end it if you use JobLock in a way that breaks these terms. The disclaimers and the liability limits above survive either ending.
If these terms change, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will also be called out in the app's release notes rather than slipped in quietly. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Iowa, unless the consumer-protection law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim somewhere else — in which case it does.
